DIE ROLL MODIFIERS
Players who do not like the rigidity of
the Supplement Rules #1 but would rather have
more die roll risk with more defender participation
on attacks may wish to use these Die Roll
Modifiers instead of the Combat Result Tables
to differentiate the strengths and weaknesses
of the Asgard, Goa'uld and Earth Starships
and Combat Units.
With Die Roll Modifiers, the attacker rolls
the dice in the same fashion as in the initial
Rule Book; however, the following amount would
be added to the die roll of the attacking
and defending starships and/or combat units:
STARSHIP/COMBAT UNIT DIE ROLL
For example, a player attacking with 2 Asgard
starships against 1 Goa'uld starship would
roll 2 dice and the Goa'uld would roll 1.
CASE 1: If the Asgard rolls
a 4 and a 6 while the Goa'uld rolled a 6,
then the Asgard would win the battle, with
the 6 die since it would receive a +2 modifier
equalling 8 (6+2) while the Goa'uld would
only receive a +1 modifier equaling 7 (6+1).
The Goa'uld starship would be removed from
CASE 2: If the Asgard rolls
two 5s or two 4s while the Goa'uld rolls a
6, there would be a tie 7 (5+2) to 7 (6+1),
or the attacker would lose the dice roll 6
(4+2) to 7 (6+1) and the attacker would then
have the following choices:
(1) Stop combat and not continue, or
(2) Fight to the death - meaning that the
defending player now gets to roll the die
attacking units during the attacker's turn.
If the attaking units survive, then the attacker
rolls again -
both sides must continue to attack in this
fashion until one side is destroyed!
